The 30th edition of the "Tataouine Ksours International Festival," scheduled for 22-24 March,2008 is dedicated to "a celebration of the Sahara," according to organizers. The event will include an international marathon, horse racing, poetry readings, and folk music concerts. The southern Tunisian city of Tataouine is known for ksours (stone castles), which were originally designed to store basic food commodities.
